30 november 2007 we had to go for guides meeting so shortly after camp.. SIGH.. but I didn’t go for the first part of meeting because I was at some course thing.. but it was a VERY SAD DAY
SHERRY’s farewell ): None of us wanted to see sherry migrate.. she’s a great guides PL.. a funny friend.. she was really nice to us sec one’s even though she scolded us at times.. HIJ 1st COY surprised her with the dedication song I DO by 98 degrees.and it was a really sad occasion.. many guides cried.. and if I’m not wrong, EVERYONE shed a tear or two for her..
I want to say THANK YOU SHERRY and I’ll MISS you..i;m sure everyone wil remember you. And the good stuff you did for us (: GOOD LUCK (:
27-28 november 2007 SJI camp!!! On 27th November, we had to wake up super early and report to school for the camp..and when I got out of the car in the morning… I saw 2 scouts croing the road to our school and I thought to myself.. that’s not too many scouts… Then when I walked into school and I saw such a lot of guys… I mean scouts… ya.. Turns out there wee about 70+ of them!!! So many compared to the 30+ of us guides… so scary rite???
Anyway… we fell in in such a funny horse shoe.. scouts surrounding us guides in side in horse shoe formation..yup.. then joey broke the flag and some scout broke the scouts flag.after that we were given groups and went to the hall for icebreakers.. and we had to change in the classroom!!! Just because there are guys in the school.. but I guess that’s good.. My group was group 8 with Bernadette and joycelyn.. we were the lucki-er guides as there was 3 of us in a group while some groups only had one or two guides..and the guys in my group were Gabriel, Bertrand, timothy and salik.. I’m not too sure how to spell their name sthough.. Ice breakers, we played blow-wind-blow and whacko.. it was quite fun to watch other groups play.. After that was GAMES time..there was 4 games I think..the walking on the floor om\n newspaper and if we lose( which we did), we had to drink the yucky mixture of stuff that eliza and qarrisa mixed!!! It was really disgusting.and joycelyn didn’t like it, but Bernie helped her drink.. so kind.. our mixture was peas, beans and something which I have forgotten.. And then there was the game with cotton wool and honey And the one with lifting the bucket with yucky stuff inside And the frozen t shirt game which sarah “enjoyed” by the way… After that, it was LUNCH!!! Yummy.. I was quite hungry by then.. Then it was group corner where we had to think of an item as a group for talent time that night.. Then it was time for orienteering.. me, Bernie and joycelyn had to go all around toa Payoh looking for the three places which were everywhere around toa Payoh..and the scouts only needed to go buy some stuff around HDB hub there.. It was extremely tiring.. sigh.. but our group managed to finish everything.. YEAH!!! (: After that, flag lowering and dinner.. YUM then we bathed!!! Yippee!!! I’m so glad that we got S-E-V-E-N minutes to bathe!!! Yeah!!!finally a bathing time when we didn’t have to rush like xiao. Then it was talent time.. our acting was really weird and nobody could hear the sound cos the guys were talking too softly or something..then it was time for the initiation or “scaring”ceremony..i went with shoba and two other scouts At first I thought it would be way scary.. like really freaky cos the scouts kept on saying stuff about it.. and the school looked really freaky..but it was ok in the end..but I admit I was scared a little..especially the science block part and then it was SLEEP TIME.. yeah..i was soooooooo tired and fell asleep almost straight away.. but the floor was hard and I woke up almost every hour.. sigh..
Next morning we woke up at 530 and .. I was still tired but we went on the bus and went to SJI So early in the morning . Then we had to put our bags in the OLD LOOKING SJI classrooms..and we washed their cooking equipment.. then we had breakfast Then we cooked our lunch.. outdoor cooking with nice equipment We had to cook fried rice, chicken porridge and potato salad.. it was hard work and our food didn’t turn out nice except the potato salad cos mrs tan help[ed us cook it or direct us how to cook it.. (: then we ate the food we cooked and then it was pioneering.. knots..

Anyway..then we had to build a roman cannon ball.. but we had to build an A-frame and 3 ppl carry 1 person on top and go get poles.. for the cannon ball building.. it was really heavy to carry someone.. on the frame.. But it rained and we moved to the canteen area.. and no more carrying heavy people on the frame (: haha In the end, we built it and launched water bags into the rain.. yes.. I know that sounds funny.. After that, it ws nearly time to go home.. e got our bags and it was time for prize giving Our group didn’t win anything.. but that’s ok..(: Then each group wa given two bottles of Pringles and some a bottle of coke.. we had to share them among the group.. but we were sitting near the organising comm. And they didn’t have any for themselves and so our kind group gave them one-fifth of each of our Pringles bottle.. so kind……. And then we went HOME
